A recent opportunity to test out the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III at the prestigious Grammy Museum in Los Angeles proved to be a great experience for a professional photographer. This new offering from Canon is a pocket-sized camera that boasts impressive features and great image quality.
The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III comes with a 24-100mm equivalent F1.8 – F2.8 lens, DIGIC 8 processor, 20.1MP 1.0-type Stacked CMOS Sensor, and a 3.0” touchscreen LCD. Notably, it also has a tiltable LCD screen and customizable controls that allow for easy and efficient shooting from different angles.
During the test, the photographer took a variety of shots, including close-up portraits, panoramic shots and some night-time shots. The camera’s performance impressed with crisp images, fast and accurate autofocus, low-light performance and effective image stabilization system that worked to prevent image blur.
While the camera has no viewfinder, or weather sealing, it is a compact size that packs a punch and offers excellent image quality.
The Grammy Museum opened in 2008 in downtown Los Angeles. The multi-faceted museum features interactive exhibits, educational programs and hosts special events. It houses an array of music artifacts including instruments, lyrics and costumes.
