This 5-inch IPS touch screen display is designed for the Raspberry Pi and features a DSI interface, 800×480 resolution, and up to 5-points touch. It comes with a capacitive touch panel that supports Raspberry Pi OS/Ubuntu/Kali / WIN10 IoT and Retropie systems, making it a versatile option for a wide range of projects.
Getting started is easy with this touch screen. Simply connect it to the DSI port of your Raspberry Pi using the included FFC cable, and fix it in place with screws. Then download the system image from the Raspberry Pi website, unzip it, and write it to a TF card using the SDFormatter software and Win32DiskImager software.
After connecting the Raspberry Pi to the touch screen, wait a few seconds until the LCD displays normally. The touch function will also work after the system starts. Controlling the backlight is also easy – just open a terminal and type the following command:
echo X > /sys/class/backlight/rpi_backlight/brightness
Adjust X to a value in the range 0 to 255, where 0 produces the darkest backlight and 255 produces the lightest. Alternatively, you can download and install an example for brightness adjusting.
The package includes a 5-inch DSI LCD (B), an FPC 15PIN 1.0 pitch 50mm (opposite sides), and a screw pack. The touch screen supports Raspberry Pi 4B/3B+/3A+/3B/2B/B+/A+. When used with Raspberry Pi, it supports Raspberry Pi OS with 5-points touch and Retropie with driver-free touch. For other systems, it supports single-point touch.
Take advantage of the Raspberry Pi’s capabilities with this easy-to-use touch screen display. If you have any problems, feel free to contact the development resources and technical support.
