The Android operating system, which is used on over 3 billion devices worldwide, was built by a team at Google. Androids: The Team that Built the Android Operating System provides a first-hand account of how this operating system came to be. Written by Chet Haase, who joined the Android team at Google in 2010, this book chronicles the startup’s beginnings, how the team came together, and how they developed the operating system from scratch. The book also offers insights into the challenges of working in a highly competitive industry dominated by established players. Haase recorded conversations with team members to document the early days of Android’s history leading up to the launch of 1.0. The book captures developers’ stories in their own voices and sheds light on how Android succeeded.
