The GPC-55-MAX charger by Go Power! is a powerful and efficient way to charge flooded or wet cell batteries. It uses a 4-stage charging process, which includes “bulk charge”, “absorption”, “float”, and “equalize” stages. During the bulk charge stage, the charger puts its full output into the batteries to bring them up to 100 percent charge. In the absorption stage, the charger holds the batteries at 14.4 Volts DC and tapers off the amperage going into the battery. The third stage is the float stage, where the charger drops the voltage to 13.5 Volts DC to avoid excessive battery gassing. Lastly, the equalize stage charges the batteries to a higher voltage to ensure both batteries stay at the same charge level. The charger automatically performs an equalize when it is necessary.
The GPC-55-MAX charger is great for battery banks with up to six batteries and is UL listed for safety. It has a compact design that fits nicely in small spaces and comes with a 15 ampere male plug for easy installation.
