This docking station provides a solution for laptops, ultra-books, and other slim devices that often lack enough ports for connectivity. The Kensington USB 3.0 Dual Docking Station takes one USB port and converts it into six hot-swappable USB connections. You can easily access up to eight peripherals, including two 1080 HD video monitors.
The USB-A cable, which is included with the docking station, connects your laptop to the docking station. This cable provides all the connectivity, keeping your displays and peripherals at home or in the office. With just one USB-A connection, you can enjoy multiple ports, including:
- 2 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Ports (backwards compatible to USB 2.0) for high-speed data transfer up to 5Gbps and phone charging
- 4 USB 2.0 Ports for peripherals like keyboards, mice, printers, and other accessories
- Gigabit (10/100/1000) ethernet
- External headphone and microphone jacks with audio 2.0 for enhanced sound quality
You can enjoy dual display resolution via DisplayLink of up to 2048Γ1152@60Hz, and 1080P video via HDMI and DVI. Additionally, you can experience single display resolution of up to 2560Γ1600 @60Hz (including QHD 2560Γ1440) via HDMI. If you want to add a third monitor, you can use a USB-A to DVI DisplayLink adapter (Kensington part #K33974AM or similar).
The docking station comes with DVI-to-VGA and DVI-to-HDMI adapters, increasing compatibility with a wide range of monitors. A power supply is also included to power the dock and all the ports, although it does not supply power to a laptop.
